Pará, the Orient of Belém and the Masonic Grand Lodge of Pará

Pará is the second largest state in the country with an area of 1,247,689.515 km², slightly larger than Angola. Is situated in the northern region and is bounded by Suriname and Amapá in north, at the northeast by the Atlantic Ocean, at east by Maranhao, Tocantins southeast, at south by Mato Grosso, Amazonas and Roraima in the west and at the northwest by Guyana.

Belém, the capital of the state of Pará, is the biggest city on the Equator. 200 years ago, the Portuguese Court embarked towards Brazil, in a journey that completely changed the direction of Brazilian history.

The Sacred Art Museum opened in 1998, being part of the museum exhibition circuit. The museum is responsible, through a contract lending, of the 89 museum pieces belonging to the Archdiocese of Belém.

The Historical Museum of the State of Pará was created in 1983.

The Theater of Peace was founded on February 15, 1878. In July of 1869 begins its construction, with a highlighted Neoclassical architecture.

The Masonic Grand Lodge of Pará was established, legitimately and legally, on 28 July 1927, by the following, fair, perfect and regular, Symbolic Lodges: “Firmeza e Humanidade” No. 1 (installed March 1, 1858), “Cosmopolita” No. 2 (installed June 1, 1864), “Renascença” No. 3 (installed October 10, 1872), "Antonio Baena" No. 4 (installed August 24, 1899) and “Firmeza e Fraternidade Sourense” No. 5 (installed June 25, 1922).
